Land Otter Man North American Indian: Tlingit 1825-1875 CE This canoe prow carved in the form of land Otter man was chosen to memorialize the end of a thirty year war. It was chosen because a leader in the war had accomplished feats that resembled those of the Land Otter and because the inmates of Land Otter house were his paternal grandparents.
