Mithras was pictured in the physical perfection of a fifteen-year old youth, and the Indian gods were portrayed in the splendor of sixteen year old figures, since that was considered the age of physical perfection and the gods are perfect.12 Horus is portrayed as a nude, youthful sovereign on the Metternich Stele where he strides forward carrying a snake, a scorpion and an oryx in his right hand and a snake, a scorpion and a lion in his left hand with arms extended (Figure 29).
